Placenta Bliss

Placenta Services Fees

We are honored to serve so many wonderful women in the Triangle area. Since October of 2011 we have encapsulated over 450 placentas, and counting. We would love to be apart of your postpartum journey.

Traditional Placenta Encapsulation

Investment: $250.00

Inspired by the Traditional Chinese Medicine method of preparation involves cleaning the placenta, gently heating the placenta and then dehydrating the placenta before it is put into capsules.
Using this preparation is thought to bring out the placentas healing and longer lasting tonifying properties. This method is thought to be best when working with a history of depression or postpartum depression.
This method tends to yield less then the Raw method as it is steamed first before encapsulation. Depending on capsule size 00 or 0 and size of the placenta, yield is generally from 70 -150.

This service includes a prenatal meet & greet, placenta pick up, encapsulation, placenta print and cord keepsake, informational packet, delivery of placenta capsules and a postpartum follow-up.

Basic Placenta Encapsulation

Investment: $230.00

The Basic method of preparation skips the steaming process altogether. Raw food activists believe that steaming the placenta destroys some of the essential nutrients. The basic method of encapsulation is believed to not degrade the hormones and nutritional value by using the low heat of the dehydration process after it has been heated for 4 hours at a high temperature, but there is no steaming like in the Traditional method. Using this option provides a burst of energy upfront, from the greater hormone and iron boost.
This method tends to yield more then the Traditional method as it is not steamed first before encapsulation. Depending on capsule size 00 or 0 and size of the placenta, yield is generally from 90 -190.

This service includes a prenatal meet & greet, placenta pick up, encapsulation, placenta print and cord keepsake, informational packet, delivery of placenta capsules and a postpartum follow-up.

Both Placenta Encapsulation

Investment: $270.00

Many mothers enjoy having both types of encapsulation, so we do half Traditional and half Basic. They enjoy using the Traditional for when they first start taking their capsules to have that more consistent hormone stabilization and the Basic for the more energetic properties when they are ready to start adding more into their day. A wonderful option brought to you by the amazing women we have serve our first few years.

This service includes a prenatal meet & greet, placenta pick up, encapsulation, placenta print and cord keepsake, informational packet, delivery of placenta capsules and a postpartum follow-up.

Placenta Smoothie or Placenta Cubes

Investment: $35.00 immediate pp
                          $45.00 smoothie cubes
           $65.00 for both

In immediate postpartum having a fruit smoothie with a bit of raw placenta added gives the mom a great energy boost, putting all those lovely hormones and nutrition back in your body. It helps replace the iron lost with postpartum bleeding, it's especially helpful if you had some postpartum hemorrhage. The smoothie tastes no different than placenta-free smoothie. Your smoothie can be made with dairy or non-dariy with your choice of fruit. A great starter for immediate postpartum that satisfies post-birth hunger while providing the immediate benefits of the placenta.

This option can only be offered at some birth spaces. Placenta smoothie cubes is the alternative for birthing spaces that do not allow for smoothies to be made and to make more smoothie through out your postpartum.

This service includes an optional prenatal meet & greet at our home, placenta pick up when both services are bought, placenta print and cord keepsake, informational packet via email or in person, and a postpartum phone or email follow-up.

When it is just Smoothie Cubes Service you must drop off the placenta and pick up your finish product.

Placenta Tincture

Investment: $8 for a 2oz Bottle
                    $15 for 4oz Bottle
                          $35.00 for 8oz Bottle
                          $25 for Second Bottle
                                          $20 for each Additional Bottle

Putting part of your placenta in tincture form is another way to stretch out its longevity. As it has no shelf life when care for like all herbal tincture, store in at room temperature (60°-80°). A small portion of placenta is added to 100 proof alcohol in a 8 oz bottle and set to ferment for 6 weeks. Some of the benefits include hormone stabilization during your postpartum menstrual cycles, less bleeding during those cycles, and added energy. You’ll also have the tincture to help you transition through the hormonal changes of menopause, a great added bonus.

This service includes an optional prenatal meet & greet at our home, placenta print and cord keepsake, informational packet via email or in person, and a postpartum phone or email follow-up.

Just the Tincture Service you must drop off the placenta and pick up your finish product plus the remaining placenta to discard. Every 2 oz of placenta is made with a thumbnail size piece.

Placenta Keepsake
for clients planning not to encapsulate

Investment: $30.00 in Specialist home
            $60 in Client's home

In many cultures the placenta is planted with a native tree or bush. Giving the nutrition rich placenta to aid in the grow of the tree, and creating a sacred keepsake of the birth. As your child grows so does their tree.

Another wonderful tradition is creating a placenta print to add to the keepsakes of your birth. A beautiful print of the life giving placenta that was home to your baby while in the womb. The placenta what is often referred to as the tree of life, and as a print you can see why. Some mother's will place a print right on their belly cast.

In other cultures the cord is dried and place in a medicine bag for the mother and baby. A newer tradition is the cord is dried in a shape of a spiral, heart, or twisted into a circle like a wreath and kept as a keepsake. Some mother's place it in a scrap book, make a dreamcatcher, or glues it to their belly cast, as the cord is not used for encapsulation.

This service includes a placenta print made in your home or mine on paper or belly cast, cord keepsake prepared to dried in your home or dried in mine, and directions on how to properly plant your tree or bush with your placenta.
